Train to Fairbanks

Alaska Railroad in Denali

The top deck of the first class car. The huge windows were great as well as the free drinks, plus the seats could turn around so we would use them to rest our feet.

The outside deck of the first class car. This was another awesome perk of riding in first class, you could step outside to take photos and feel the wind on your face.

While riding through the Nenana Gorge, Heather and I decided to give the FC Dining car a try. Heather got the Braised Buffalo Chili and I got the Pot Roast in a Marsala sauce with garlic mashed potatoes and french green beans. They were both quite excellent!

The Ballistic Missile Early Warning System at Clear Air Force Station.

The remains of the telegraph system that connected Fairbanks to Anchorage. The copper wire was removed to be reused or sold, leaving the poles to collapse.
